Create different appointment types with individual durations in FlowCaptain and assign them to calendars.
Services
Services let you define different appointment types that your customers can book. Each service has its own duration, which overrides the calendar's default appointment duration.
Services are created workspace-wide under Services in the main navigation. You then assign them to individual calendars — in the calendar under the Services tab.
Creating a Service
Under Services, click the add button and fill in the fields:

| Name | Name of the service (e.g. "Initial Consultation", "Follow-up", "Inspection"). |
| Description | Optional description for your own reference. |
| Duration | Appointment duration in minutes. Overrides the calendar's default duration. |
| Type | In-house appointment — Customer is present for the entire appointment. Drop-off service — Customer drops something off and picks it up later (e.g. bicycle workshop). |
Drop-off Services
For drop-off services, you can additionally configure:
- Drop-off policy — When must the customer drop off?
- On service day — Drop off on the day of the appointment
- Day before — Drop off the day before the appointment
- Either — No fixed requirement
- Drop-off by — Time by which the drop-off must happen (e.g. 11:00 AM)
Assigning Services to a Calendar
Open the calendar and switch to the Services tab. There you assign the services from your catalog that should be bookable through this calendar. Only services matching the calendar type are offered: in-house services for in-house calendars, drop-off services for drop-off calendars.
Default Appointment Duration
When no services are assigned — or the caller doesn't mention a specific service — FlowCaptain uses the calendar's default appointment duration. You can adjust this under Calendar → Schedule & Availability → Appointment Settings.
How It Works
When a caller wants to book an appointment, FlowCaptain automatically identifies the matching service based on the caller's description. Availability is then calculated based on that service's duration.
Using the Service Selection setting (under Assistants → Settings), you control whether the caller must explicitly choose a service or whether FlowCaptain identifies it automatically.
